Hello all! We haven't blogged in quite awhile due to all the craziness of work, cleaning, and the endless things that need to get done! We are back safely from the Caribbean and back in the swing of things. We have many stories to tell, but we will save that for another post!
We want to thank everyone who made our wedding such an awesome day for us. Everyone who was there, everyone who watched online, everyone who prayed for us... we thank you all! We had such an amazing day. I still can't believe that it is over and it was almost two months ago! The day was absolutely perfect!
I am loving married life! Everyone said marriage was work, but I always thought that it was meant in a sense of communication, compromise, etc.... I think some meant it in the sense of physical work! The laundry never ends and the house will never be finished as far as cleaning goes and the dishes will conitnue to pile up no matter how many times I load the dishwasher! :) It is all completely worth it though! We are enjoying every minute that we have together!
Being married to Grant has givin me another opportunity to get a new look at who he his! His heart is just amazing! What an amazing man to be married to! I love to wake up to him every morning... even when he's dragging me out of bed to get to work! :)
Thanks for checking out our blog! Check back for pictures soon! |

We are officially less than a month from our wedding day! We are getting so excited! The invites have been sent, the wedding dress is fitting perfectly, the hair appointments have been made, and we are all set for December 27th!
If you haven’t received your invite, please click here or let us know if you would like to receive an invite.
I am so proud of Grant! He designed our invites. He worked so hard on them and I was so excited by the outcome! I could not think of anything else he could have done differently… he did an absolutely perfect job!
Grant and I sat down last night to discuss our ceremony and to write out an order. It was so weird to know that we are planning for a day next month when we are going to become husband and wife. It’s such an odd, but great, feeling!
A couple of weeks ago we had a shower in Shreveport, where Grant’s parents live, it was awesome. I met so many wonderful people. Grant’s parents are blessed to have so many wonderful friends. It was great to finally meet all the people Nova Dawn and John talk about. I am so glad that we got to meet them! It was such a blessing to us!!! Grant added pictures to the media gallery of our Shreveport shower.
I (Cynthia) am in Grove right now having my last Thanksgiving having the Yirsa name! It’s so sad and exciting! ☺ It’s weird knowing that this is the last time that I will be home until December 21st or 22nd… just a few days before the wedding. I can’t believe that it is really going to happen.
We have so much to do before the wedding with work and school. I think the days are going to just zip on past. Please pray for us as we enter this last month! I am taking a class/test to be certified to take x-rays at work next week, I also have finals coming up, as well as working full time and getting things ready for the wedding.
This next week, I will begin packing up my apartment to begin moving my many things into Grant’s apartment. I will be staying with my sister a few days before I head to Grove for the wedding. It is going to be a chore for me to get Grant to clear a space for me! This is such an exciting and busy time for us!
Don’t forget to RSVP!
We’ll be seeing you in about a month! We will be updating from time to time as well! |

You might have noticed in the Baptist Messenger that there was a bit of a mix up with the choice of clip art which ran with our wedding shower invitation. One might at first think that this was a baby/wedding shower but I assure you that is not the case. Next weeks issue of the Messenger will be corrected.
Cynthia and I are NOT having a baby. We have both made a commitment to God, each other, and our families to remain abstinent until our wedding day. |

We only have 3 months and 18 days until the wedding! We are getting very excited and anxious as the day grows closer and things get busier! I am still working full-time as a dental assistant while going to class
in Midwest City at night and taking online classes. Things can get very
hectic very fast!
We sent out the Save the Dates that Grant designed! We got them out a little late, but they are out nonetheless! Grant is currently designing the invites that will go out in a couple of months.
A couple weeks ago, Grant and I went to Grove to get some wedding planning done. We talked to the florist, found a caterer, and found our wedding cake, and decided on a venue for our reception! It is so exciting to see things finally coming together! I am wanting the wedding to come quickly, but there is just so much more to do! Grant is being the greatest fiance by helping with all of the planning! He went with me to the appointments with vendors and they were all shocked that the groom was there. He is awesome!
We will be having a shower in Semionle on October 12th! I am so excited to see everyone and to finally feel like a bride! YAY! I am SOO grateful!!
We have a lot more designing and detail work to do for the wedding, so we won't lack for things to keep us busy! We have reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western in Grove for our out of town guests, so be sure and call if you need a room! We will post details about that in the "Wedding Info" section of our website soon! Another detail we have figured out is where the reception will be located. The wedding will by at my home church, Elk River Baptist Church, while the reception will be held at the Celebration Center at the First Christian Church! I am SO very excited!
I think that is all the new information that we know as of now! We will be sure to keep you posted as things proceed! We love you all and are very excited to share December 27th with youl! We can't wait to see you! |

I have been working on getting video clips as well as our engagement added to the media gallery. It's proved to be a somewhat difficult task but I have finally got the encoding right and they are now in the media gallery for your viewing pleasure. I will add more video as time allows so check back every once and awhile for new videos.
In other news we have picked out tuxes for myself and my guys. We have also booked our honeymoon which will be a ton of fun. We are working on getting our guest list ironed out as we will hopefully be getting our save the dates out within a month.
So check the video out and leave a comment about it if you wish...

This month has been very very busy! All in the first week of May we had finals, celebrated Grant's 23rd birthday, and also celebrated Grant's graduation from Oklahoma State University!! :) Also to come this month, Grant will be moving!
Grant is finishing up his degree this summer, but he was able to walk in May. He is currently taking a Classical Art class and then will finish up his degree in June and July working on his senior project. I am very proud of him and know he will do great!
On May 27th, Grant will be moving to a new apartment here in Stillwater. I am sure this will be a huge adventure (if you've seen all the stuff that Grant has, you would understand)! I believe I will start helping him pack soon.
Last weekend, Grant and I went to Kansas City to see my sister, brother-in-law, and niece as well as to order my wedding dress!!! I am SOO excited! When I was in Kansas City over a month ago visiting, I went and tried on a few dresses with my sister. I found the PERFECT DRESS but I was nervous to say it was "the one" because it was the first wedding dress I had tried on in my entire life. After that weekend, I tried on a few dresses around here and didn't find anything that even compared to the Kansas City dress! Needless to say, we went back up this past weekend and ordered it. My mom and both my sisters were able to be there, which was very important to me! I am so glad that they were able to take time out and come with me! I just got a call from the dress shop and it will be shipped on August 30th! Gosh, that seems so far away, but I am SO excited! I think Grant will be floored when my dad walks me down the aisle toward him... maybe he'll even cry! (Yea right!) :)
We are going to start taking engagement pictures this week. I start my summer Microbiology class on Monday, so I'm hoping to get a lot of the pictures out of the way this week. Grant, of course, will be taking our pictures. I am very excited about him taking them because he is SO incredibly talented!
We are also in the process of working on the Save the Dates so that we can get those out next month! Be sure to add your address and other information on our Wedding Address Book here on our website!
We are very excited about our upcoming wedding and marriage and are very glad to have a little time to work out the details of the wedding! We will definitely keep you updated on all the latest information!

Media Gallery Updated! |

Well I finally got around to fixing our Media Gallery. I had to change some code to get things to work right. I also added a few more pictures which may have not been on there previously so check it out. Eventually I will be putting the video of our engagement in the Media Gallery but it might be another month or two. Before I can do that I have to upgrade one of my computers. At the current time my fastest computer has a Intel 2.53 GHz overclocked to 2.57 GHz and two gigs of RAM. This just isn't quite fast enough to handle the high definition video that my camera records. I will keep everyone updated on the status of that venture right here on our wedding blog. Stay tuned! P.S. Today is my birthday! I'm the big 2-3! I think I was born around 10:15 AM which means in about 7 hours and 24 minutes I will have been alive for 23 years! |

Well this is the first blog post on grantandcynthia.com. Cynthia and I will both be writing entries to let everyone know what we are doing and how plans are going. Also if we add any features or content to the website will we post that here as well. If you are reading this you obviously see that I have added a blog feature. Aside from this I have added a form where you can send in your address to make sure you receive a formal invitation. You can view that page by clicking here. You might have noticed that our media gallery ceased working for awhile due to a server upgrade but it is working again but unfortunately we will have to re-add all of the pictures that were in the gallery. That process is somewhat time consuming and neither Cynthia or I really have much of that right now with school coming down to the last four or five weeks. We assure you that we will eventually get those pictures back up along with the video from the engagement as well as engagement photos (after we take them). That is all of the updates for now. |

New Feature: Comments |

I have added a new comment feature to our Blog section. This new comment feature will allow you, and others, the chance to leave feedback on each one of our blog entries. This feature is not a guestbook. If you wish to leave us a general comment that does not relate to the post you are commenting on you should do that in our Guestbook portion of the site. Guests must enter a security phrase, a series of 5 alpha-numeric digits for the comment to be added. Comments left by guests will be moderated which means they will not show up directly after posting. Either Cynthia or I will have to confirm your comment as a legitimate comment and publish it manually. This process will more than likely happen within a few hours. The main things we will be working towards now is getting the media gallery back up with all our pictures. Turns out a server upgrade from PHP4 to PHP5 caused the problems. We will also be working on getting the "Our Story" section filled with content. Once school is out in a few weeks we are hoping that we will have a day or two that we can totally devote to getting all of the information put on the site. |
